Tortoise?

Did you know..... That the americans and south americans do not know what is a 'tortoise'?

What we would call Tortoise, the Americans call it Turtles... and when we say Turtles they call it Sea Turtles. Cool! ;o)

Malaysian Food in Chicago

This was my second visit to the beautiful city of Chicago. Its TOTALLY unforgettable, because........ I ate Malaysian food!!!!! Finally...................

I woke up at 4am.... and with only a 2-hour sleep, our troop (Justin, Maricel, Jack and I) left the apartment at the crack of dawn, 5.15am. Sooooo early la............. While Jack and Maricel slept at the back, Justin drove and I kept him company. listening to him pouring out his miseries over the love of his life, the 'General'. Man........ you guys should have seen the way Justin was driving! 90 miles an hour!!!! All the cars and trucks were just making way for that "mighty" driver who must have seemed crazy on the road!!!

Well, once we arrive in Chicago, finding for parking was HELL. After we did the serious stuffs (Justin's Brazilian visa application), the girls launched into full shopping mode!!!! (Of course!) First stop GAP. Aiyo.... everything on sale!!!!! I must have shopped so long that I lost track of time... coz EVERYONE left me!!!! I was STRANDED in GAP............. alone, no cell phone, no coins, totally clueless. I was frantic. Finally had to use a pay phone and place a call using my debit card. Gosh.......... duuuuh....

Oh....... the BEST part of this trip! I FINALLY TASTED REAL MALAYSIAN FOOOOOD!!!
I remembered Allison telling me that there is a Malaysian restaurant in Chicago, called Penang.... (Why Penang, and not my state, Melaka????) So, I took the metro and head towards Chinatown. I had no directions... and no idea where is this restaurant. I just guessed that it would be in chinatown.
You know what??? The moment I stepped down the metro, the FIRST thing I saw was a huge signboard with the word "PENANG" written on it!!!! Wah lau eh................ talk about the power of mind! I guess I must have dremt so much about malaysian food that it virtually appeared in front of my eyes!

Jack and I was so overjoyed that we decided to treat Justin and Maricel to the FAMED Malaysian Cuisine. We had a FEAST!!!Nasi Lemak... Rendang Ayam... Penang Char Kuay Teow... Hokkien Mee... ABC... and CENDOL!!! (Anybody wanna visit me in Malaysia ;o) ???)

So, with that in my happy tummy, I return to St. Louis a very HAPPY girl! ;o)Heaven..........................
