Air Show in St Louis

In conjunction with the Labor Day weekend, St. Louis County organised the St. Louis Air Show at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport (isn't that a cool name for an airport?).

It was a HUGE event. Imagine... the whole fair spreads across the airport, and there were so many people!!! It never ceazes to amaze me whenever I see the amount of people attending the fairs or public events at St. Louis. On any other day, St Louis seems like a really quiet place, and you hardly see people around. (Except at Six Flags Amusement Park)

Jack was at the Air Show from 12.30pm till 9pm, and yes.... he was the one who found out about this in the first place. Maricel and I joined Jack at the fair at 6.00pm. We took a tour at the stationary air craft display for about 1 hour. We saw fighter planes, carrier planes, helicopters, tanks and missiles. It was really cool!

We then rushed just in time to witness the evening air show.... THAT WAS SIMPLY AMAZING. The planes were doing stunts and formation in a fading light as the sun sets... so the sky was turning dark. In the beginning, the planes were doing formation and using smoke as part of the show. Towards the end of the show... it was totally dark, and the plane had bright and glittering lights that made the show breathtaking.

After watching this amazing air show, there was a shark exhibition where the owner swam with the sharks and show some stunts in the aquarium. Before we went home for the day, we walked around the fair one more time... My feet was exhausted, but all in all... this has been a great day!

An American... off to Brazil!!!

Today... another one of my favourite people in US left St. Louis.... Justin Charles Nolde aka LCP of AIESEC St Louis. =(

The scene at the airport strangely reminded me of my own departure from Malaysia just 6 months ago. Lots of pictures taken, joking around, hugs everywhere, promises to keep in touch and finally.... a crying mother who will miss her child for one year.

I will miss Justin... especially when we go to Denny's or Steak n' Shake for supper. Also, not to mention, seeing his wonderfully 'fake' polished smile whenever a camera is pointed in his direction. ;p He is just one spoilt, blond-haired, blue-eyed, american boy, but we all love to spoil him... (Who doesn't?)

Justin.... u promised to write, so don't you forget. Also, don't forget that you promised to come visit me in Malaysia, when I send you an invitation, kay? Accomodation provided!!! I'm going to hold you on to that promise. ;o)

So... Justin, my friend!! All the very best for your journey in Brazil!!! I am really happy that you are living your dream as I am living mine. I am proud of you... that you chose to take this path to embark on this journey and leave your comfort zone behind you. Salute!!!
